use the merge program during a resolve, choose the moption. If your merge tool from the list above is installed and is not showing up in the dropdown, then look for an option to install command line. I haven't tested it, but I hope the alternative diff coloration makes it easier to see single-word/space insertions and deletions within a line (which is something I often fail to notice in mainline KDiff3).
